Tom Nelson is from Houston, Texas and graduated Veterinary.jpg)
School from Texas A&M University in 1979. At Texas A&M, Dr. Nelson
obtained a Bachelor of Science in Zoology, a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary
Medicine, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Nelson's special
interest areas include orthopedic surgeries, oncology, critical care, and
exotics. He enjoys backpacking, scuba diving, cycling, kayaking, and
hunting. He is a member of the Northeast Alabama Veterinary Medical
Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical
Association, Veterinary Cancer Society, and is
currently serving as the president of the American Heartworm Society. Dr.
Nelson is married to Brooke Nelson and has three sons: Drew, Cole, and
Graham. Dr. Nelson's favorite quote is "Change is never easy but is
inevitable."
